Second Section – the Negative Commandments

84. It is a negative commandment “do not keep in one’s possession a broken measure or scale.”

As it states in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 25:13-14, “do not keep in your bag stones that are great and small.” This is true even if you do not use them or measure with them.

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
