Second Section – the Negative Commandments

100. It is a negative commandment “do not eat creeping creatures”

As it states in Vayikra (Leviticus) 11:44, “do not make your souls impure by eating any creeping creature that crawls on the ground.” Creeping creatures are animals born from a mold, not from a male or female. One who eats an olive size amount of them receives lashes.

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
