In Parshas Emor we learn about the prohibition for a Kohen to cause himself impurity by touching a dead body or entering the building where a dead body is found. There are exceptions to this rule; for example, one may become impure in order to bury his immediate relatives or to bury a person who does not have anyone else to bury him. Furthermore, a “challal,” who is the son of a Kohen who was was married to a woman who was unfit for the Kehunah, is permitted to be impure.
