In this week’s Parsha we learn about the requirement to make kiddush from the passuk, “Remember the Shabbos day.” Although women in general are not obligated in time bound positive mitzvos, they are obligated in Kiddush. The passuk juxtaposes “remembering” Shabbos with “guarding” Shabbos. Chaza”l teach us that everyone who is required to guard Shabbos is also required to “remember” Shabbos by making Kiddush, thereby including women.
