Dvar Halacha On Parshat Vayigash 12 16 2012

In the beginning of the Parsha, Yehuda tells Yosef, who he thought was a Mitzri, that Yosef had passed away. Chazal point out that this is not true, and learn out an interesting halachah from this statement. The halachah states that one is allowed the bend the truth under certain circumstances in order to insure peace. Obviously, one must first check with a competent Rov to clarify the this halachah’s applications.
