During the Shmitah year, which is discussed in Parshas Behar, the fruits have many halachos due to their special holiness. Being so, a person may be tempted to sell this produce in order to avoid the “burden” of these fruits. The Torah tells us that this cannot be done. When one sells the fruit, the money received in the purchase also attain the status and stringency associated with the fruits themselves. (Masechta Sukkah 40b)
