In Parshas Bamidbar we learn that the Mishkan had “shomrim” or gaurds. Chaza”l teach us that the guards were not there to actually protect the Mishkan, because there were no people trying to attack it. Rather, the purpose was to add to the glory and mystique of the holy place.
