Many different things are needed in life: wealth, health, happiness, a nice family, a nice house, etc. But there is one thing more important than all of these and that is Awe of G-d. Therefore, after we wash our hands, the first statement we make in the morning is Ra’shees Chochma Yiras Hashem – the beginning of wisdom is Awe of G-d. We say this first, because it is the most important thing to focus on. All of the other things are important, but this is the most important.
