If A website that sells Judaica or similar products is operated by an internet company which exists somewhere in cyberspace. (Naturally, the site is accessible on Shabbat and people can make purchases.) Is this aloud? Are we aloud to sell via internet if it is open to the public to buy on Shabbat?
Rambam 299/ Shevet Halevi, Section 6:36 Explain:
There are six different possible problems:
1)Putting a stumbling block before a blind man.
2)Business dealing on Shabbat
3)Earning money on Shabbat
4)Deriving pleasure from the earning on Shabbat
5)Things which appear forbidden in the public eye
6)Trivializing the sanctity of Shabbat
All things considered, if a Jew enters your web site on Shabbat; strictly speaking, it is his problem and sin but not yours, as you leave the site open on their Friday or Sunday. Since the website is totally automatic, and the owner of the site is doing absolutely nothing connected with it on Shabbat, he is not healed accountable.
You don’t have to stop or block your website on Shabbat, though it is a blessed action for the above six reasons.
