Thanks! – Divrei Simcha for Parshas Tzav

Thanks!

In this week’s parsha, Tzav, we continue on the subject of karbonos (offerings). One of the karbonos that is mentioned is the Karbon Toda – the Thanksgiving offering. As I am sitting in front of my computer typing this, I started thinking how many people I need to thank to be able to write this week’s Divrei Simcha.

First, I need to thank the company that makes this computer. But to make a computer is not only one person. I don’t know much about the inside of a computer, but I know that there are many different pieces. I need to thank all of the people that made each of those pieces because if one of them was not working, the whole computer would not work properly.

I also need to thank the people that made this monitor. If it was not for this monitor, I would not be able to see all of my typing errors so I could correct them. And let’s not forget the keyboard. I would not be able to type if it was not for the people that made this.

Let’s go farther though. On this keyboard, there are a bunch of letters and numbers. I need to thank the people that painted these letters onto the keys so I know what I am typing. Also, the person that molded the plastic (or whatever material these keys are made from) so that they would fit in the keyboard. Under each key, there’s a spring. That’s another person that I need to give thanks to. And on the top of the keyboard, there’s a little light that goes on when I use CAPS lock and NUM lock. All of these people play a part in me being able to type this week’s Divrei Simcha.

But wait, there’s more. A few years ago, I saw an ad in the newspaper for this computer. Therefore, I need to thank the person that printed that ad so I would buy my computer. I also owe a debt of gratitude to the paperboy that delivered this paper to my front doorstep.

Then when I got to the store, there was a clerk that helped me find this computer. I brought it up to the cashier and she finalized the purchase for me by taking my money.

In my car, I was thankful that someone wisely put the computer in a box with bubble bags and cushion foam so the computer would not break on the rough road.

I also need to thank the truck driver that brought the computer from the factory to the computer store so I could buy it there.

Also, I need to thank the electric company and water company for providing their services at the facilities that manufacture the computer. Without them, the computer would not be able to be built.

I need to thank my ninth grade typing teacher. Without her, it would take me hours to type.

I also need to thank my parents because without them, I wouldn’t be sitting at this computer typing this. Actually, I need to thank the parents of everyone that I’ve already listed because without them, this computer would not be here.

And of course, I must thank Hashem. Without Hashem, nothing would be possible.

And that is why we bring a Karbon Toda. I have not even listed a quarter of all of the people I need to thank, but we need to be thankful to them all.

AND OF COURSE, I AM VERY THANKFUL TO REB SIMCHA TAMIR AND THE WWW.CHESEDCLUB.COM STAFF THAT UPLOAD AND PRINT MY DIVREI SIMCHA EVERY WEEK. AND THANK YOU FOR READING THIS!

Good Shabbos!
