A yeshiva boy once led davening at a minyan that the Manchester Rosh Yeshiva was at. The Rosh Yeshiva was known for davening very slowly but this boy davened very quickly. After davening, the Rosh Yeshiva mentioned very nicely to the boy that in the section of the Torah called the Tochacha (rebukes), we are told that we will run but no one will chase us. The Rosh Yeshiva asked the boy: who was chasing you? Why were you running so quickly? What’s the rush? This is something we should keep in mind when we daven also.
