Second Section – the Negative Commandments

22. It is a negative commandment not to listen to a person prophesizing in the name of an idol

As it states in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 13:4, “Do not listen to the words of that prophet.” Do not speak a long discussion with him or ask for a sign or a wonder. If he does a sign or a wonder, ignore it. Anyone that thinks this sign may be true, has committed this negative transgression.

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
