It is a negative commandment “do not have relations with a woman and her daughter’s daughter”
As it states in Vayikra 18:17, “and do not take her daughter’s daughter.” When a man marries a woman, it is forbidden to have relations with her mother, her mother’s mother, her father’s mother, her daughter, her daughter’s daughter, and her son’s daughter. The punishment for having relations with any of these six women while his wife is still alive is death by burning – no difference if the act was for marriage or immoral. If it happened after the death of his wife, then he is spiritually excommunicated. If it was done by error, he is to bring a sin offering.
This commandment is talking when a man married a woman, then these six other woman are forbidden. If he had immoral relations with her, then he is not forbidden to marry these woman, but, our Sages of blessed memory, made it forbidden to marry these six woman during the other woman’s lifetime. In this case, if he married one of these six women, he is not required to divorce her.
According to Shnius from the Sages, for the commandment of a woman and her daughter, the following are also forbidden: the daughter of his wife’s son’s son, the mother of his wife’s mother’s father, the mother of his wife’s father’s mother, the mother of his wife’s father’s father. The Shnius from the Sages for the commandment of a mother and her daughter’s daughter, the following are also forbidden: the daughter of his wife’s daughter’s daughter and the mother of his wife’s mother’s mother.
This applies in all places and at all times.
