Sefer Ha’mitzvos Ha’Katzar (The concise book of mitzvos) By the Chofetz Chaim
This book lists the Torah mitzvos that can be observed today
First Section – the Positive Commandments
31. It is a positive commandment to refrain from work on Yom Kippur
As it states in Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:32, “A great day of rest it should be for you.” Anyone that does work on Yom Kippur, violates a positive commandment and a negative commandment (Negative Commandment number 151). If the work is done intentionally, the person gets kares (Heavenly punishment of a premature death) and if it is done unintentionally, a Chatas (sin offering) must be brought [this was when the Temple was standing]. Any work that is forbidden on Shabbos is forbidden on Yom Kippur.
This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
