Sefer Ha’mitzvos Ha’Katzar (The concise book of mitzvos) By the Chofetz Chaim
This book lists the Torah mitzvos that can be observed today
First Section – the Positive Commandments
29. It is a positive commandment to rest from work on the first day of Tishrei, which is Rosh HaShana
As it says in Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:24, “In the seventh month on the first of the month, you shall rest. It is a day of remembering the blast (from the Shofar), a day of holiness.” Its laws about work are like the first day of Pesach. According to our Sages, Rosh HaShana is to be kept for two days, in Israel or outside of Israel.
This applies in all places and at all times, for men and women.
