Talking during Torah Reading: It is absolutely forbidden to talk during the Torah reading. Between Aliyos, there are different opinions regarding if talking is allowed. Some say talking is forbidden. Others say talking is permitted but only for discussing words of Torah. Finally, some allow any type of talk that is permitted in a shul (which does NOT include talking about business or sports). If a person has a question which opinion to hold by, it is best to check with the Rav of the shul.
