If a person approaches you asking for charity while you are davening, you are not required to give to him. The reason is because a person involved in one mitzvah is not required to take part in another mitzvah. If you want to give, you are allowed to give. The Sages state the preferable thing to do is to prepare money before davening so you do not have to interrupt your davening and can still give to the person asking for charity.
