Kadoshim – BE HOLY!!! 19:1-3
א וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. | 1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: |
| 2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them: You shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy. |
How can Hashem commend us to be Holy? Its something that takes a lot of work and a lot of training, day after day, it’s not the clothes we ware or how we look! That can make us Holy.
And why do we need the word דַּבֵּר אֶל-כָּל-עֲדַת בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל why not just say דַּבֵּר אֶל- בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל
What is this אֶל-כָּל-עֲדַת – all of Israel!!!
No one on this earth is excluded from this call! from this Mitzva, we are all children of Hashem.
Kadush means separation! we must separate our selves from evil, from illicit relation, sexual immorality, from in pure things it means we must have self-control. However, it does not mean that we have to disconnect ourselves from society, Hashem does not want us to isolate our self from man kind from daily worldly life here on earth He wants us to love and care for people to connect with them and teach them Torah . This Mitzva is a reminder to connect to man kind in a loving caring way. We should always try to increase our blessing and our Amen to connect to Hashem, and the more we connect to HaShem with our Mitzvot the more holy we can become.
