4. Be kind to yourself. Speaking badly even about yourself is unethical.
הלכות שמירת הלשון In this week’s Parsha we find an interesting halachah pertaining to shavuos, oaths. If one decides to take a certain action, he is not bond to it as long as he was not uttered his from his mouth, as the passuk says, “Or a soul swears by expressing with his lips,” implying that an oath only takes affect if he utters it. This is not so regards to tzedokoh, in which a clear decision to give binds a person even without a verbal statement.
