In Parshas Vaeira, Moshe Rabbeinu leaves the city before praying that the hail should stop. Chaza”l explain that he did not want to pray in a place filled with idol worship, and therefore left before saying his prayers. Based on this Chaza”l, the Trumas HaDeshen writes that if one is staying in a hotel that has idols in it, it is better to pray outside rather then inside the hotel, as long as he will not be bothered by passers by.
