In this week’s Parsha, the Torah changes Avrohom Avinu’s name from Avram to Avrohom. The Yerushalmi in Brochos says that one violates a positive commandment by referring to him as Avram. However, this does not apply to Yaakov Avinu, even though the Torah changes his name to Yisroel, since the Torah refers to him as Yaakov even after the name change.
