The concept of strengthening a machlokes, an argument, is a serious transgression in the Torah. We learn in this week’s Parsha that it is not only a lack of good character, but an explicit sin in the Torah. Chaza”l teach us that the prohibition of “Do not be like Korach and his cohorts,”
is warning us not to be involved in machlokes like they were.
