In this week’s Parsha, Shabbos is referred to as an “os,” sign. Rebbi Akiva learns from the Parsha of Tefillin, which states “They should be for you an “os,” that one is required to wear tefillin only when he does not have any other “os.” This teaches us that one is not required to wear Tefillin on Shabbos which itself in called an “os.”
