This week’s parsha commands us, “Do not place blood in you home.” Although the simple context of the passuk is referring to the mitzvah of “maaka” specifically, Chaza”l extrapolate it to connote more situations of danger. Rebbi Nosson in Mesechta K’subos states that it this passuk warns us not to have a dangerous dog or a weak ladder in our home either. The halachah is not limited to these two examples, but rather includes all circumstance that can bring immanent danger.
