The passuk in this week’s Parsha says, “So you should do to your brother’s lost object that he lost.” Seemingly, the last part of the passuk, “that he lost,” is repetative. The Gemara in Bava Metzia says that it teaches us that we are required to return only an object that the owner feels a loss as a result, meaning that it must have the minimal value of a “sheva pruta.” Please contact your Rov for the exact value of a “sheva pruta.”
