The passuk in Parshas Behar states, “[The Year of] Yovel is holy (kodesh).” Chaza”l learn from the fact the passuk calls Yovel “kodesh” that it has similar halachos to the objects owned by the Baid HaMikdash, which are also termed “kadosh.” One example of this is if one sells the fruit of the Shviis year, the kedusha of the produce is transferred onto the money. In most cases, the money would be permitted to be used, but when one sells Shviis, the money one receives is limited to be used in the same manner as the fruits themselves.
