The Gemarah in Mesechta Brachos says that the Avos established the three tefillos that we say every day. Avrohom Avinu established Shachris, Yitzchok Avinu established Mincha, and Yaakov Avinu established Maariv. The source of Mincha is found in Parshas Chaye Sara, “And Yitzchok went out to speak in the field at the coming of evening.” It seems from here to fit with those poskim that are of the opinion that the best time for mincha is Minha K’tana, which is closer to the evening.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
