Just like Shema should be recited aloud (see last week’s entry), when a person recites a blessing, he should say it aloud. One advantage to this is other people can answer “Amen” to his blessing, but even if no one else is present, a person should say the blessing aloud.
4. Be kind to yourself. Speaking badly even about yourself is unethical.
