The words Baruch Attah at the beginning of prayers are normally translated as Blessed are You. What does this mean though? The Avudraham says that what these words really mean is Hashem is the Source of Blessing. We are not blessing Hashem (He does not need us to bless Him). Instead, we are recognizing that everything comes from Hashem.
