In the Shabbos morning Shemone Esray, the middle blessing begins “Yishmach Moshe B’matnas Chelko”. We state this on Shabbos to remind us that when the Jews were slaves in Egypt, Moshe asked Pharoah to give the Jews a day of rest. When it was granted, Moshe chose Shabbos to be that day of rest.
