One of the most important mitzvos the Torah has given to us is the mitzvah of saying over the story of our Egyptian exile and redemption on the 15th night of the month of Nissan. The commandment, when written in the Torah, tells us that we should say the story to our children. Why must we specifically say the story to our children? The Sefer HaChinuch writes that the reason behind the mitzvah is that by speaking out the open miracles that Hashem did throughout the redemption, we will strengthen our belief that He runs the world and controls everything that happens. In a young child, the foundation of their belief still must be set. Obviously, even if there are no young children at the table, all those present have a mitzvah to ask eachother questions and expound on the story of the Jews leaving Egypt.
