Second Section – the Negative Commandments

194. It is a negative commandment “do not forget the actions of Amalek”

As it states in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 25:17,19, “Remember what Amalek did to you… do not forget.” This means to not forget in one’s heart. It is forbidden to forget their hatred towards us.

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.

This completes all of the Negative Commandments that a man is commanded during our time and their number is one hundred and ninety-four, which in Gematria (which is a numeric value for each letter) for Tzedek (righteous).
